What did I like best about our cruise together?

There was never an awkward silence — mostly because she filled every moment with conversation, energy, opinions, laughter, and the occasional spontaneous salsa demo. She was like the human espresso shot of the ship: social from breakfast to poolside, gym to the cocktail bar, dinner to the evening show — and still somehow managing to look like she stepped off a magazine cover at every formal night.

And the bikinis? A different one for every day. The excess baggage was …. Let’s just say the crew definitely knew her name. And possibly our room number.

Onshore, she could walk for miles without complaining — unless there was no cafe or decent Wi-Fi, at which point diplomacy failed. It was honestly refreshing having someone who could keep up with me. Even better, she was always up for trying new cuisines, even if we both regretted that fermented jellyfish salad.

And then there was the dancing. So. Much. Dancing. I should’ve brought two pairs of leather-soled shoes and a portable defibrillator. McKenzie danced through the apocalypse and still asked for “one more.”

So what did I like best about the cruise?

McKenzie, at full throttle. A 20-day whirlwind of glamour, guts, and groove — even if we both quietly agreed we’d never return to Bombay or Cochin .
